‘CRACKDOWN’ STARTS NOW Announcing new political site – AntiBVBL.net
MANASSAS, VA – AntiBVBL.net today announced the release of the newest political satire blog in Northern Virginia. AntiBVBL.net goes head-to-head with blog bvbl.net in covering politics in Prince William, Manassas, Manassas Park & beyond. Created on February 22, 2008 AntiBVBL.net immediately took root in the blogoshere.
After attending the Prince William County Forum of 100’s discussion of ‘Ethics, Blogging and the First Amendment’, Ben Tribett of http://notlarrysabato.typepad.com/, suggested the creation of a counter blog to ‘mock Greg’. This suggestion combined with the issuance of an ‘administrative note’ by bvbl.net was the start of the AntiBVBL.net brain-child.
The ‘administrative note’ read as follows:
“you are free to purchase your own hard drives, power them on your own dime, house them in a computer you buy, and maintain it with your own spare time. You cannot compel me to pay to preserve your pearls of wisdom, or promote them to the world on your behalf.”
This ‘challenge’ issued by bvbl.net combined with a known demand by ‘banned’ users was the impetus for AntiBVBL’s inception. Individuals who feel their voices have been silenced by bvbl.net are invited to participate in an interesting, uncensored discussion of important topics in a ‘familiar’ setting which extends mutual respect for differing viewpoints at http://www.AntiBVBL.net .
Stewart starts off his second term proclaiming he wants to refocus his attention on to environmental issues; and what is his first step? He allows sewer into the Rural Crescent. There’s an old saying, ‘With friend’s like this who needs enemies’. If this is how Stewart intends to protect the environment, we should all go out and hug a tree because it won’t be long before the entire County is paved over.
It appears as if the Board applied situational ethics. According to Marty Nohe,
Our job is not to necessarily follow the clear ideological path, but to look at each situation individually
Unfortunately, the problem with using this ’situational ethics’ approach is that it puts us on a slippery slope for all future requests. Additionally, as you encroach into the Rural Crescent there will always be another adjacent property that claims it isn’t fair that their next door neighbor has sewer but they can’t.
But, probably more disturbing though, is the fact that the Board went behind closed doors to work out a deal which is expressly forbidden. There seems to be a consistent theme with this elected body, whether it be with the ‘Immigration Resolution’ or Open Space Plan or rezoning applications, there is no transparency in their governing. And we are left wondering, what’s going on behind closed doors…

After careful contemplation, it was decided not to title this thread - “Turkey carves Turkey”. For those who don’t know this is Supervisor Stirrup and his wife carving the turkey. The thread title - ‘Let’s Talk Turkey’ is my second choice but I thought it more appropriate.
First of all, I’m thankful for being a citizen of this great country. Thankful that other like minded individuals are out there and are willing to participate in the democratic process. Thankful for the support from family and friends. Thankful for all the visitors that continue to come to the site even after the election.
Thursday’s post entitled, ‘Can someone let Stirrup know his precincts changed back in 2005?‘ produces action on Monday. Obviously, either someone from Stirrup’s office is monitoring the site or he was notified of the mistake that he had on his website’s homepage. So now, two years after the changes took affect he has it straight, there are eleven districts in the Gainesville magesterial district. The districts are as follows: Alvey, Battlefield, Bull Run, Evergreen, Glenkirk, Mountain View, Mullen, Sinclair, Stonewall, Sudley North and Westgate.
It appears either Gainesville Supervisor Stirrup does not know his own precincts or his camera wielding, website administering assistant does not. Check his homepage at http://www.gainesvillesupervisor.com/, and this is what you’ll find -
Welcome to the Gainesville District!
The Gainesville Magisterial District is one of seven districts that comprise the political subdivision of Prince William County. The Gainesville District is located in the northwestern end of the county and is made up of nine precincts:
Bull Run, Catharpin, Evergreen, Haymarket, Mullen, Plantation, Sinclair, Stonewall and Westgate.
Okay, hold-up a second here. What happened to the Glenkirk precinct? And what is Plantation?
It has come to my attention that Toll Brothers is under no obligation to pave the remainder of the Waverly Farm Loop from Gravely Elementary School to Route 15 until the “development of the adjacent land bays” which in the current real estate market could take quiet some time. Maybe Supervisor Stirrup can use his discretionary funds to pave another road?
Stirrup proclaims membership to ‘Help Save’ Movement. Interested in knowing the leadership of the Help Save Manassas Group? Well, here you go… And my only question is how, how could anyone follow this logic but especially how could our Gainesville District Supervisor proclaim membership or an alliance to this?
The countdown is on, 3 years 362 days until we can remove the dastardly duo of Stewart/Stirrup from power. Let me clarify the term, “we” by “we”, I mean the voters of Prince William County. For those who need clarification, or are clamoring for a ‘legal disclaimer’ here you go -
